March 2016

Dear Parents/Carers,

What a great way to start a new month with World Book Week, culminating in a wonderful array of costumes today – thank you to all parents and carers.  The children have been excitedly sharing their learning with me today about Alice in Wonderland – some fabulous writing and amazing maths problem solving all linked to this famous story.

January 2016

Dear Parents/Carers,

A Happy New Year to you all!

Children have enthusiastically shared their Christmas experiences with us and are slowly moving on from the excitement of the holiday to remembering what they learnt before we broke up!

2016 looks to be yet another busy year here at St Michael’s CEP.  This week Year 3 had a surprise visit from Mrs Maund, who will be their class teacher after half term.  She was extremely impressed by their enthusiasm, and is already planning exciting learning opportunities for them.

December 2015

Dear Parents/Carers,

Today we lit our second candle on our advent ring in church, and Lindsay reminded us of the importance of keeping the true meaning of Christmas in focus and the dangers of becoming wrapped up in all the commercialism that surrounds us.  With this in mind, we are looking forward to the KS1 nativities this week (2pm), the wreath making session on Friday in the school hall at 6pm and the KS2 performances next week.  If you haven’t already done so, please let your child’s teacher know which performance you will be attending.

November 2015

Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome back to a new term and what a busy one this is going to be!

On our return to school we received our latest National Society Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools Report; we are delighted that they have recognised the ‘genuine cohesive and inclusive community’ that is St Michael’s CEP, where ‘all matter equally’.  We have put the whole report on the website and I do encourage you to read it when you have a moment.
