I would like to extend a warm welcome to Mrs Desai and Mrs Stenning, who have both joined the St Michael’s team. Once Mrs Desai has had a chance to settle in, we would like to invite parents/carers in for a ‘Meet the Teacher’ session – this is scheduled for Friday 9th February at 2.40pm in the Year 6 classroom.
The PTA continues to fund raise for our desperately needed play area – hopefully we have nearly reached our target, many thanks to everyone who has contributed so far. A huge thank you to the 10 dads and Mr Honey who turned up last Saturday to help us clear the old playground site, in preparation for building works on the new play area, they worked incredibly hard. Miss Jones and Mrs Hamilton provided much needed sustenance of bacons rolls and cups of tea. The area already looks so much better and we are just awaiting the results of the Tesco vouchers to see how much we have got towards the new equipment.
Please can I remind all parents/carers that boots and jeans are not part of school uniform and should not be worn, and that trainers should only be worn during PE lessons. If a child is wearing the incorrect uniform, an email will be sent home.
On 31st January a group of children from Years 4, 5 and 6 are travelling up to the O2 to sing in the Young Voices concert, where between 5,000-8,000 children will perform as a single choir to a sold-out audience of family and friends. I am sure they will remember this for the rest of their lives.
